Hiiii lovely peopleeee!!

I have been wanting to write this post for a while now, and I finally have the courage to do it.

Just like the title says, I am Bipolar, Type 2 to be exact, and I have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

For so long, I have been afraid to share this because I thought people would judge me. I never wanted someone to use my disabilities against me.

BUT

I am a rare gem.

I always tell you guys to be unapologetically you, so it was time I embraced all parts of me.

In the last month, I have done a lot of reflection about what it means to be bipolar and ADHD. I used to always only think of negative things, but recently I started realizing the good things.

I am a very empathetic, compassionate person, and being bipolar will help me connect with others who struggle with mental illness.

While hypomania has its dangers, I get some of my most cherished creative ideas from those episodes.

I can focus a lot when I use my ADHD meds. I get so much done!!

My ADHD and bipolar brain is so smart and interesting. I love the way I see the world.

I manage my illness well and am in therapy and see a psychiatrist for medication management. It's because I manage this effectively that I still get to live a beautiful life.

While the depression is suffocating and makes it hard to get out of bed some days, it just means that better days are around the corner.

The bad days always remind me we have to have them, or we wouldn't know what a good day feels like, cause they would all be the same.

I want to help break the stigma attached to Bipolar and ADHD. Being told they're too much, being told they're insane, being told their emotions are too intense, the list goes on.

I am here to tell you that it is completely normal to be Bipolar and have ADHD.

You are one of a kind.

You must manage your mental illnesses through therapy and medication or herbal remedies. Whatever you do that works as long as it's healthy, keep doing it!

It is not our fault that we have a mental illness, but it is our fault if we don't manage it.

If we don't manage this illness, it starts to greatly impact our lives and the people in them.

You don't want to do that to yourself or your loved ones.

It's okay to go to therapy.

It's okay to be on meds.

It's okay to like your herbal medicine, like CBD or whatever.

Once you have stabilized and found good medicine and a therapist. Life will start to feel better again, and you will feel so much less stimulated and sad.

You deserve to take care of your mental health and not let in inhibit your life.

I know everyone has days where it will be hard, and that is normal, but when it becomes frequent, maybe it's time for a med change.

Anyways,

The point of this blog is to normalize mental illness, no more what shape it comes in.

I have also been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, I wanted to focus on ADHD and Bipolar disorder for this blog. Stay tuned!

I want you to know you are so worthy of embracing your true self.

Being bipolar and ADHD makes me so quirky and fun. There will never be a dull day with me. I can always find the light even on my darkest nights.

We all have nights that consume us with the pitch blackness of the universe. The void slowly suffocates us as we try to come up for air.

BUT

I do come up for air, and I do see the light at the end of the tragic darkness.

I rise again.

I always do.

AND so will you!!

If you're reading this and it resonates, lovely, I hope it helps. If you're reading it and you don't have any mental illness, I hope this helps you understand bipolar and ADHD and show more compassion for people with mental illnesses.

Be unapologetically who you are. Authentic living is the key to a happy, fun-filled life.
